I Don’t Have a Partner. Can I Still Lean to Dance?
Of course you can! There are limitless opportunities for those wishing to enter the world of dance, but find themselves without a partner. Dance Fever offers a number of resources and forums for dance, including group classes, private lessons, social dance parties, and even Pro-Am competitions!
You might consider taking private lessons, especially if you appreciate one-on-one guidance from a teacher. Private dance lessons can take place with or without a partner, and many individuals come in alone! Your instructor steps in to the partner role where necessary, while guiding you in your own steps and technique along the way. Alternatively, if you enjoy the company of a group setting, our group dance classes are a weekly opportunity to partake in a shared dance experience. Often, the teacher will have his or her students rotate partners, so no one is committed to any one leader or follower; in any case, each group of students sets the tone for their respective group class, and the instructor tailors the lesson to the particular group.
Each month, Dance Fever holds monthly dance parties — another fantastic way to get a night of dancing in, with no partner necessary. Most people come without a partner, in fact — the goal, after all, is social — so it’s a great chance to dance with many different people and meet some new dancers just like you. Who knows — you might even find a steady dance partner along the way who shares your goals and interests with respect to dance!
If competing is where your interests truly lie, ask us about Pro-Am (pro-amateur) opportunities. Most major competitions have a Pro-Am division in which students partner their teachers. Many dancers find that their dancing improves even more rapidly than with a amateur partner, which can be particularly rewarding.
Don’t hesitate to contact us today about any and all of the above opportunities! We look forward to taking you wherever you want to go in the world of dance.
